The 805—California's Central Coast—at times feels like a hidden hub brimming with filmmaking talent, where creativity hums beneath sun-soaked mountains and ocean breeze. Enter Soraya Simi, a filmmaker driven by a passion for uniting creatives, ready to spark a film revolution in this magical corner of the world.

The CLIENT

Soraya Simi started 805 Film Collective as a grassroots group, organizing meetings at local breweries until the the number of members grew from thirty, to sixty, to well over a hundred. Now, with over four hundred members and having hosted dozens of events later, her core commitment to bettering the 805 film community has never wavered; truly a collective for filmmakers, built by filmmakers.

The project

Following a successful first year, 805 Film Collective was looking to uplevel their existing brand to better reflect the community it served. We built a new brand system to fit this vision.

Fostering a flourishing film industry

The Collective brings together filmmakers and creatives who believe in the importance of authenticity and excellence. Their passions lie in the timeless art of storytelling, the beauty behind documenting human stories with a deep connection to the earth. This balance of merging classic reliability with energizing innovation was top of mind throughout the branding process.
